Meet Our Founder

Gunnar Dunbar

Founder and Wealth Manager

I grew up in Lake Tomahawk, Wisconsin, in the heart of the Northwoods. Around here, trust is not built through polished language or big promises. It is built through consistency, honesty, and doing what you said you were going to do.

That has shaped how I approach my work, my business, and the people I serve.

Before founding Revolution Wealth Services, I served in the United States Navy as a Cryptologic Technician Networker and intelligence analyst, and had the privilege of supporting special operations teams overseas. That work required discipline, clear thinking, discretion, and the ability to make decisions when the stakes were high. It also taught me the value of preparation, attention to detail, and staying calm when complexity increases.
During my military service, I earned a degree in Computer Science from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and later entered the wealth management industry. My experience includes working with high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth families, business owners, retirees, and professionals navigating complex financial decisions.

Today, I hold the Series 7, Series 66, SIE, and life and health insurance licenses. More importantly, I have built my practice around a simple belief: clients deserve advice that is thoughtful, direct, and grounded in their actual life, not generic financial talking points.

Why I Started Revolution Wealth Services

I started Revolution Wealth Services because I wanted to build a firm that felt different from the traditional financial services experience.

Too often, financial advice is either overly complicated or overly generic. Clients are handed investment statements, projections, and product recommendations without a clear understanding of how everything fits together.

That is not good enough.

My role is to help clients organize the moving parts of their financial life, understand the tradeoffs in front of them, and make disciplined decisions with their money. That includes retirement planning, investment management, tax-aware planning, insurance coordination, cash flow decisions, estate considerations, and the personal goals behind all of it.

The numbers matter. The strategy matters. But they only matter because of what they are meant to protect: family, independence, security, time, generosity, and the ability to make thoughtful choices.

My Approach

A Disciplined Process,
From Start to Strategy

I believe good financial advice should be clear, practical, and honest.

That means I listen first. I explain the reasoning behind recommendations. I do not pretend every decision has a perfect answer. Most meaningful financial decisions involve tradeoffs, and my job is to help clients understand those tradeoffs before they act.

01

Clarity

Helping clients understand where they stand, what matters most, and what decisions need attention.

02

Discipline

Creating a structured plan instead of reacting emotionally to markets, headlines, taxes, or short-term noise.

03

Coordination

Connecting investments, retirement income, taxes, insurance, estate planning, and cash flow into one broader strategy.

04

Candor

Telling clients what they need to hear, not just what sounds good in the moment.

05

Follow-through

Doing the work, tracking the details, and helping clients keep momentum after the initial plan is built.

A Local Firm With a Serious Standard

Rooted in community. Focused on your future.

I am a husband, a father, a business owner, and a member of my community. I stay involved locally through Ducks Unlimited, the Lions Club, and the LUHS District Foundation because I believe strong communities are built by people who choose to contribute.

That same belief carries into my work with clients.

Financial planning is personal. People are not just looking for someone to manage accounts. They are looking for someone they can trust with decisions that affect their family, their future, and the life they are trying to build.

That responsibility matters to me.

The Standard

Clients work with me because they want financial guidance that is steady, thoughtful, and direct. They want someone who can simplify complexity without dumbing it down. They want advice rooted in competence, not salesmanship.

That is the standard I built Revolution Wealth Services around.

If you are looking for financial guidance grounded in clarity, discipline, and trust, the first step is a conversation.
